"I wanted the Tyrells to look very much of a group. I tried to formalize it with the rose fabric, the fabric of their family, as this was being done for family." - Michele Clapton (Costume Designer)

Absolute perfection. Brides will be clamoring for thorns and antlers among their rose applique this season.

ransom and i got married several months ago in an intimate ceremony, but recently had a larger reception for more family and friends, and it was a blast! as we’re both writers, it seemed fitting to have the event at one of our favorite bookstores: the last bookstore in downtown LA. we’ve had a lot of requests for photos, so i thought i’d drop a few here. hope you enjoy them as much as we do!
:::for the especially curious:::
my bouquet: was made from the pages of ransom’s novel (miss peregrine’s home for peculiar children).
our photographers: brandon + katrina of brandon wong photography.
venue: the last bookstore in downtown los angeles.
catering: the extremely fabulous heirloomla.
flowers: from floral art!
the band: one of our favorite local indie bands, the gallery.
hugs and books!
The Last Bookstore is the most magical place on earth. What a stupendous wedding.

6 Reasons Why We’re Cautiously Looking Forward to “Eleanor and Park,” The Movie
On Tuesday, Dreamworks Studios announced that it was picking up the film rights to the New York Times Best Selling debut novel from Rainbow Rowell, Eleanor and Park. Lately, YA fiction to film has been all the rage in Hollywood, from Veronica Roth’s Divergent, to John Green’s The F…
I can’t get behind this film adaptation because there’s no way in hell that a studio would cast Eleanor right. They will not cast a fat girl, or even a slightly-larger-than-normal girl. And it is so critical to this story that Eleanor is fat, truly fat, constantly-bullied-by-everyone-on-the-school-bus fat.
Hollywood’ll cast, like, Alia Shawkat, who is tiny but happens to have a round face, and think they’ve given every fat teenage girl someone to root for. And I will seethe.
The soundtrack will be awesome, though.
